The PERLISTEN A series speakers, while positioned as entry-level, are designed with a focus on correct phase alignment and value for money. A distinctive feature of Perlisten Audio speakers is the waveguide used in the tweeter. This design continues in the A series, aiming to control high-frequency dispersion. The high-frequency waveguide in the A series has been redesigned as a wide-dispersion waveguide to expand the sweet spot area.
The drivers in the A series have also been redesigned. The tweeter is a 1.4-inch (35mm) soft dome, which is relatively large among dome tweeters. This size allows it to reproduce lower frequencies more effectively, facilitating better integration with the mid-bass drivers. The mid-bass driver and subwoofer are 9 inches and 18 inches, respectively, using rubber surrounds, and the cone material is likely carbon fiber.
The A18v, like other Perlisten Audio subwoofers, features a built-in DSP processor and provides an app to control the subwoofer parameters. It offers volume adjustment, phase adjustment, delay adjustment, crossover point adjustment, and 10-band parametric equalization (PEQ) adjustment. By adjusting placement and parameters, the low-frequency response can be tailored to achieve the desired sound.
